REPPP (Research Evidence into Policy Programmes and Practice)

The NSRP-funded staff at the University of Limerick are embedded in the Research Evidence into Policy Programmes and Practice (REPPP) team. This ensures access to resources, knowledge sharing, and the alignment of Youth Justice Projects.
Research Evidence into Policy, Programmes and Practice (REPPP) is a strategic partnership between the Department of Justice and the School of Law at the University of Limerick. Established in 2016, its aim is to improve the evidence base in relation to youth crime and youth justice policy, programmes, and practice in Ireland. It does this through:
- significant and ongoing policy-oriented youth crime research
- greater alignment between research and policy requirements in terms of subject area, practical application, and accessibility
- a focus on improving understanding and performance at programme and practice levels
- better management of uncertainty about emerging policy demands for evidence
- development and delivery of a flexible research programme
- retention of specialist technical knowledge on youth crime within the Department of Justice
- research support for implementation and effective governance.
Current projects include:
- Youth Diversion Projects Research and Development.
- Improving Data Usability in the Youth Justice System.
- Greentown Project to reduce the influence of criminal networks on young people and communities.
- Implementation Research Projects.
- Local Leadership Programme.
- No Wrong Door Study.
- Stable Lives Safer Streets (HEA-funded project)
- Other research projects as agreed with the Department of Justice.
