Alan's Biography
Alan is a criminologist whose work centres upon the criminal exploitation of children and young people. A former practitioner in youth intervention for harms experienced beyond the home, Alan is interested in qualitative research that harnesses the voices of children and young people and contributes to tangible safeguarding outcomes for those exposed to harm. He has a Masters in Conflict Transformation and Social Justice and beyond criminal exploitation has been involved in research on youth homelessness and young men’s perspectives on violence against women and girls. Alan is a Research Fellow within the SLSS hub, and his current project focuses upon community-level interventions for criminal exploitation.
